Intern will compile a comprehensive list of exhibitions at The Metropolitan Museum of Art from 1870 to the present. Surprisingly no such list has ever been created although the sources for one are abundant and are concentrated primarily in the Museum Archives. These include Annual Reports exhibition catalogs departmental exhibition lists and exhibition files among the records of the Office of the Secretary. A complete accurate exhibitions list will support the work of departments and projects throughout the Museum; in final form it may also be a tremendously useful resource for scholars students and the general public.
