Engaging communities worldwide to chart a sustainable future, Green Map System offers adaptable resources and award-winning iconography to both student and adult-led mapmaking projects. Highlighting green living, nature, cultural and social sites, to date, over 350 editions have been published, as seen at GreenMap.org. Each is unique but all use the same set of Green Map Icons to highlight sites, pathways and resources in over 500 communities in 54 countries. In 2009, the OpenGreenMap.org mapmaking website will debut, adding an inclusive and interactive social media component to sustainable community development. Green Map System has been based in NYC since 1995, and in addition to creating adaptable resources, books, workshops and other materials for mapmakers worldwide, has published various citywide and themed editions of NYC's Green Apple Map. |
