Roosevelt University was founded in 1945 with the goal of making higher education available to all regardless of race, gender, religion, economic status, etc. The main campus is in downtown Chicago in the historic Auditorium building, designed by Adler and Sullivan. The university recently created the position of University Archivist and is in the process of creating a university archives. The four major collections include papers of the university, the Center for New Deal Studies, the Chicago Musical College (dating back to 1867), and the Auditorium Theater, home of the Joffrey Ballet. |

Students who participated in ASB at the Roosevelt University: Julie Judkins. "I processed some administrative records (weeded out duplicated, put into order, and re-housed), helped design exhibit for library lobby, documented Eleanor Roosevelt letters (item level) in CuadraStar database, and attended Black Metropolis Research Consortium planning meeting. I loved being able to attend a committee meeting. It was great to be able to see how it was held and how a grant project was handled from the inside. I also enjoyed designing the exhibit." |

We are a newly established archives and are just beginning to enter metadata into a CuadraStar database. The project would involve entering information about collections at the collection and folder levels into the database. Familiarity with CuadraStar a plus but not mandatory, familiarity with basic data entry and cataloging practices required. We also have some small processing projects available. Project would involve sorting, weeding, and consolidating files; refoldering in acid free folders; and creating a folder level inventory. | ||
